I’m so glad to hear that Clelia. Whenever you go to speak (and particularly if you are nervous) always focus on what you have to give, on how you hope to inform, educate and inspire those you are speaking to. It takes the focus off you (and your ego and fears) and onto those who’ve gathered to hear you. I always pray before i speak… and let God work through me.

Hi Margie,

I just wanted to add a very special thanks today, as your blog helped me immensely to get ready for my public speaking about dreaming big and motivating people to follow their passions and your articles were a huge help! The event went wonderfully and this is also because of the great advice you gave in here.

So a double thank you is in order!
Clelia

Hi Clelia,
Thank you for your wonderful note and sharing your story. I’m so glad you’ve found my blog also! The work you do is so important and often we don’t realise the ripple effect we set in motion through simply being true to our passion and purpose and daring to fulfill it bravely.
I hope my writings and videos will continue to inspire you.

Margie

I’ve stumbled upon many of them lately, not sure whether it’s a coincidence or I’m simply attracted by them subconsciously.

I can relate so much with everything you say. I’m well known for being a “brave” person, and I definitely am, what people don’t see, the behind the scenes of brave people is the struggle, the fears to overcome, the many obstacles on the way.

My motto is ” If your dreams don’t scare you, it means that they are not big enough”.

At almost 40 year old, I’ve already done so much with my life, no regrets. I’ve learned English from scratch at age 30, started a travel blog for passion (written in English), that is now turned into my full-time job. I am a long term traveler, even If I suffer from panic attacks. I gave a few public speeches, even if I’m dead scared of speaking to an audience. Am I saying this to brag? Not at all. What makes me happy about my job (as a travel blogger) is not the money, or the popularity that comes with it.

It’s when I receive my readers’ emails, normal people like me, that decided to change their lives because they could see themselves in me, with my insecurities and fears, and they thought that if I managed to create my “dream” life by following my dreams and taking so many risks in my life, then they could do it too.

Nothing makes me happier than this. That’s why I accept to speak in public, because I know that people will see me as a normal person and with my example I can maybe help some of them to be brave, face their fears and conquer them for a while!

Thanks for the inspirational article, it came at the right time, as I have another public speech in 4 days, and even if I’m the one supposed to inspire younger people, I also need to get some inspiration!

Glad I’ve found your blog, I’ll be definitely following it.

Clelia
